Project Description:
Located in the basement of the Meridian Mall, Les Mills newest club in Dunedin, is the first facility to incorporate the brands Live Forward concept. This revolves around the idea of embracing mindfulness in the present and making choices that contribute to a better future. The idea of mindfulness is represented using a soft, natural colour palette in the reception, main gym, studio, ablutions, and the general circulation space. The cycle studio and functional studio are both moody spaces with darker colour palettes and strip lighting. This project in addition to typical services coordination also consisted of collaborating with specialist lighting designers and acoustic engineers to produce adaptable spatial lighting and acoustically separated studios to create comfort for both the gym users and neighboring mall tenants. Throughout this high end fit out, feature terrazzo-look tiles are used in various forms such as faux columns, deep door thresholds, bespoke joinery and floor tiles creating a luxury space for all. This modern gym is a space that will inspire users to feel empowered to achieve their goals.
