Project Description:
The GeoNet Control Centre at GNS Science is a state of the art natural hazard monitoring centre that is staffed by geohazards analysts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Interact were engaged to work with GNS Science Specialist Leads to deliver a space that was purposefully designed to be provide monitoring and advisory services for earthquakes, landslides, tsunami and volcanoes - the first monitoring centre in the world to oversee all four hazards concurrently.

The space has two control rooms which share a primary response monitoring wall - made up of 8 large monitors which collate and display various sources of information. These primary spaces along with the designated staff break out space are served by multiple contingency power systems and servers - ensuring that if any technical difficulties arise it does not impede the critical operational activities.
